Our Testing Policy

The Test Site-

Tests are taken at Black Hawk College, Building #1 - Independent Learning Center, 6600 34th Avenue, Moline, Illinois 61265

Cancellation Policy-

If you are unable to take the test on the day reserved for you, you must call our office to cancel before 4:30pm the day prior to the test. If you fail to do so, you will receive a No Show. If you have questions regarding this policy, or if you need to cancel, please call our office at (309)736-1111.

No Show Policy-

Upon receiving a No Show you will be required to pay a fee before you can reschedule the test. While your first No Show is free, you will be required to pay a fee for each test you miss thereafter. The fees are as follows:

Identification-

The GED examination is a federally regulated test. All certified testing sites are required to ensure accurate identification of each person being tested. Photo identification is required for this purpose. Acceptable forms of photo identification include a current, valid Illinois Driver's License or a valid Illinois State issued ID card. Persons without this type of identification may obtain a photo ID card from any Illinois Drivers License Examination Station. Persons who have temporarily surrendered their driver's license would also be advised to obtain a photo identification card from an Illinois Driver's License Examination Station.

Obtaining Results-

You will not know the results of any of your test until you have completed all 6 tests. Results of test could take up to two weeks. You will receive your results via postal mail. We cannot give you your results over the phone or email.

Items at the Testing Site-

GED Examinees are not permitted to bring purses, tote bags, pagers, cell phones, portable music players, hand-held electronics, calculators, food items, textbooks (including dictionaries), notebooks, supplies, jackets or coats, hats, or other nonessential items to their seats in the testing room.

Calculators-

Only the calculators provided at the test site may be used only on Part 1 of the Math test.

Retesting-

You will not know the results of any of your test until you have completed all 6 tests. You will receive your results via postal mail. We cannot give you your results over the phone or in email. If you failed one or more of your tests, you can come into our office to pay the retest fee and schedule your retest. The retest fees are as follows:
