Projects
coordinated by RIROE:
Student
Art Appreciation - RIROE promotes the importance of the
Arts throughout the year by offering its gallery and glass showcase
for displaying Rock Island County students/ artwork. An Open House
event is also held to provide family and friends the opportunity
to view the artwork, give special recognition of the students'
talents, and inspire them towards an increased appreciation of
their artistic endeavors.
Developmental
Education - Educators today are faced with the challenging
task of helping students acquire new skills and knowledge while
also developing decision making and problem solving abilities
which enable them to be increasingly independent, responsible
and prepared for career decisions.
To help students grow
more independent and responsible, the developmental guidance philosophy
and model were created. The Developmental Guidance Model is a
program that is proactive and preventive. It includes a life skills
curriculum aimed at helping students develop skills in decision
making, coping, setting goals, maintaining satisfying relationships
and assuming personal responsibility for their lives. Its goal
is to enable all students to realize their full potential in their
chosen careers. Learn

organizations to offer academic enrichment, recreational and cultural
opportunities in safe, drug-free facilities for youth, their families
and community members at times other than regular school hours,
i.e., before- and after-school, summer programs, or during intersession
periods. Learn more by visiting Lights
