CURRENT EVENTS TEST:

The 31st Annual Rock Island County Regional Office of Education “CURRENT EVENTS CONTEST” for students in 8TH grade, will be held at Woodrow Wilson Middle School on FRIDAY, MAY 5TH @ 9:00 AM. This contest is sponsored by the Rock Island County Regional Office of Education and Tammy L. Muerhoff, Rock Island County Regional Superintendent of Schools.

The Current Events contest is a test focusing on local, state, and national events that take place throughout the year. Current Events enhances the ability for students to explore more while becoming better informed citizens, cognizant of world events.

The contest supports a wide range of subjects and builds language, vocabulary, reading comprehension, critical thinking, problem solving, listening skills and verbal expression, while encouraging a passion for life long awareness of the world they live in.

CONTIG:

CONTIG is an excellent way for students to practice and refine their math facts while building their mental math skills in a fast paced game of mathematical wits. CONTIG strongly reinforces the student’s knowledge in the math operation skills of addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, order of operations and mental math.

The 35th annual CONTIG contest was a huge success.
