Teachers will learn the foundation of a brain-compatible educational approach. It explores the areas of instructional design, assessment, environment, and curriculum. Hands-on computer experience, brain activities for the classroom and strategies to use with students will be provided. Presentations by a medical person, and x-ray technician and a nutritionist will offer knowledge and expertise on how brain development impacts learning. The primary focus of this course is to translate brain research into sound educational practices. This course also offers 2 grad credits at an additional cost of $200 through Aurora University due the first day of class.
