Lights ON Happenings

The Lights ON Church of Peace family literacy and adult education program averages 55 adult students daily. Most of these students are immigrant family members wanting to learn English as their second language. The adult immigrants involved in the program have 28 children attending Rock Island High School. 2011 -12 Program Objectives
Total number of students served will exceed 400.

  • Total number of Regular Attendees (attending 30 days or more) will exceed 35 representing a 15% increase of 2010-11 regular attendees
  • 30 family members (unduplicated) will attend Lights ON family programs
  • 50% of students attendign Lights ON regularly will increase reading skills based on day-school teacher surveys
  • 70% of students with behavior concerns attendign Lights ON regularly will demonstrate behavior improvements as measured by SWIS
