School Bus Drivers

-  Provide eight hour initial training for new drivers

-  Provide two hour refresher courses for returning drivers  Provide School District Transportation 

-  Public school bus drivers provide 2,225,000 miles annually of safe bus transportation in Rock Island County

To register for one of the classes below you will need to fill out and submit below form or email the following information to Julie Cox

  • Name and phone number

  • Driver’s License Number

  • Date of Hire

  • Date of class you would like to attend

  • School District name, address and phone number

Tuesday, April 23, 2024 @ Regional Office of Education - 5 - 7 PM

Tuesday, May 7, 2024 @ Regional Office of Education - 5 - 7 PM

Thursday, May 30, 2024 @ Regional Office of Education - 5-7 PM

Thursday, August 1, 2024 @ Regional Office of Education- 5-7 PM

Initial Classes 

Wednesday & Thursday, October 11 & 12, 2023 @ Rock Island County Regional Office of Education 5 - 9 PM each night

Saturday, December 7, 2023 @ Rock Island County Regional Office of Education - 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM

Saturday, April 20, 2024 @Rock Island County Regional Office of Education - 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM

Refresher classes will be limited to 50 participants.  If you sign a driver up for a class and they do not attend, your district will be billed unless we have had prior notice of cancellation.

Should an accident take place involving one of your district buses, you must provide the ROE with an accident report within 24-36 hrs. after the accident.  Click here to download the School Bus Accident Report
